Kudos to World Summit AI in Amsterdam for including diverse voices on AI development, not just the hyperscalers and their evangelists but also critics like Karen Hao https://lnkd.in/df2GYbqN. Without a vibrant conversation on AI governance, we’ll end up like after 1999 again, with a few giants controlling traffic on the net.
While talks on what it takes to succeed from the likes of AWS were predictable (second picture), I found Red Hat’s proposal of “Model as a Service”, presented by https://lnkd.in/dBNA7A8F, intriguing, as is their angle on sovereignty: it’s all about data control, including hardware – hence, on premise (pictures 3 and 4). A big reversal from the “all cloud” mantra!
Also nice to hear from Vanessa Butera https://lnkd.in/da3kFCHG from the European Investment Bank https://lnkd.in/drS93T2v, and seeing how they are stepping up to support fledgling European Tech with equity, debt and grants – much needed!
